.Sinus Arrest

What would happen if the SA node failed to initiate an electrical impulse for one or more beats?

.

It would cause one or two complete beats (both the P and QRS) to be missing and would be called Sinus Arrest.

a. There would be irregular rhythm due to the missing beats

b. Also when the rate returned the P to P interval would NOT be an exact multiple.

c.  All other configurations would be normal.
